Just as important it is for us to take care of our physical health, taking the time to look after our mental health is equally important.
One in five people experience a mental illness, yet over half of those struggling don’t reach out for help due to the stigma attached.
October 10 is World Mental Health Day, a day for global awareness and advocacy about mental illness and the part we all need to play in creating a mentally healthy world.
This World Mental Health Day, the Luna Pole Wear team have made a pledge to help reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness by promising to reinforce the importance of our mental well-being at the office.
Want to make your own promise and help to end the stigma around mental health? Click on our pledge and share it with your family and friends.
We’ve also put together a list of actions you can practice, or you can help a friend with.
Things you can do for yourself
- Switch off: Put away your electronic devices half an hour before you plan on going to sleep.
- Find Joy: Make time everyday to do something that brings you joy, whether it is painting, reading, having a long bath or putting on your favourite movie.
- Detox: Even if it’s for a few hours everyday, take the time to sign out of your social media accounts and live in the present.
